Background
Faye Whittaker is a British artist who specialises in depicting the nostalgic
Edwardian character of seaside resorts in in the North of England.
Blackpool is depicted with donkeys on the beach, amusements at the end of the
pier, and gaily coloured beach huts on the sand. There are many
references to days gone by: photographs of sailor-suited urchins and little
girls in pinafores and panama hats.
