Background
Helen Bradley (1900 - 1979) was a renowned British born artist who only began
to paint her distinctive scenes of an Edwardian girlhood at the age of 65. At
first she simply wanted to show her grandchildren how different a place the
world used to be when she was a child. From 1965 until her death in 1979, Helen
achieved international celebrity.
Helen Bradley is most well-known for a series of books which began
with "And Miss Carter Wore Pink".
Cross Stitch Designs
Bothy Threads has the licence to translate Helen Bradley paintings into cross
stitch designs. The company has completed conversions for the "And Miss
Carter Wore Pink" range of paintings which wonderfully depict nostalgic, windy
and winter English scenes.
