Lavender & Lace is a US-based company who produces
crross stitch charts designed by Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum. These high
quality, intricate and romatic designs usually depict angels, fairies and
elegant ladies.
Lavender & Lace has become one of the most
recognised counted cross stitch brand names in the world. Marilyn is most
famous for her Celtic designs which feature elegant portraits of ladies
wearing full length gowns: Celtic Spring, Celtic Summer, Celtic Autumn,
Celtic Winter and Celtic Christmas.
Lavender & Lace designs are stitched with DMC stranded cotton and usually
require speciality materials such as Mill Hill Beads, Kreinik Blending
Filaments and Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid. In some designs, Marilyn
uses her own brand of threads (10 metre skeins of Egyptian cotton) called
Needlepaints. There are 17 colours that she has created as these very specific
shades were not available in DMC's stranded cotton range of colours.
In addition to the Celtic designs, one of her best selling designs is "The
Wedding" sometimes referred to as United in Marriage. It shows the bride and
groom and a flower girl and also gives hair colour changes if required
